Another London Ice Sculpting Festival successfully completed last night in the early evening on Wood Wharf at Canary Wharf, London. It was a huge success, attracting several thousands of visitors, over the three days from Friday 11th – Sunday 13th, some who travelled for several hours to view the amazing creations this year.
I recently visited our ice sculpture operation in Dubai to attend the Middle East Event Awards. I accept, that it may sound glamorous to hot foot out from London to Dubai. The reality is it was a real ‘flying visit’, on the ground for 2 nights, 2 days of exhibition and meetings, with an overnight flight back to the UK. I’m quite bemused how people react when you say you are going away or
It sounds strange, I know. Nevertheless, importing ice to Switzerland from the UK, for the Mayor of London’s office at the annual and exclusive World Economic Forum (WEF to those in the know!) was a privilege and exciting, even if a little challenging. Especially as the location where we were displaying the large carefully honed ice sculpture was on the main street, in the snow covered alpine
I’m often asked, how on earth did you get into ice sculptures? You can picture the scene. I’m at a friends wedding a few weekends ago, in the beautiful county of Somerset on one of the rare sunny days, in a stunning stately home. The guests mix and mingle, and in that quintessentially ‘English wedding’ way, ask each other twenty questions, as happens when we meet someone that we don’t kn
Irish communications agency ThinkHouse PR approached The Ice Box to create a large scale ice replica of a Heineken can, for an online competition. With only 6 days lead time, The Ice Box created a 1.5m tall Heineken can, with an acrylic box inside, containing 2 tickets to Oxegen Festival. No stranger to working far afield, The Ice Box team travelled to Dublin to set up the sculpture in a stu
Launch of Ice Box Dubai & the glamorous world of ice Not many people can say they love the job they do. Thankfully my job has, and still does, provide the most amazing opportunities to meet great people, visit stunning locations, like Dubai and earlier this year India. I never really would have thought that ‘globe-trotting’ and international travel and growth would have happened in
Through my involvement with the London Ice Sculpting Festival, which took place last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to meet two of the leading sculptors from the UK, Ben Dearnley and David Mach. They were both judges at the festival, and on arrival showed an eagerness to join some of the public masterclasses, just so that they could ‘have a go’ at seeing what sculpting some ice f
I love this year so far! We are rocking as co-organizers of the London Ice Sculpting Festival held in Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf this coming weekend (13th -15th Jan) This involves hosting a dozen international sculptors taking part in a ‘sculpt off’ similar to those held in North America, Northern Europe and various colder climates! Please don’t be upset with me, but I’m praying f
