Caricature of Tony Blair : April 2005
The Ice Box was commissioned by the Green Party to create an ice sculpture of Tony Blair. The objective was to illustrate the opposition ‘melting under the pressure of global warming’. On display outside of London’s houses of parliament in the days leading up to the election, this generated huge media interest, and featured front page in the Guardian Newspaper. : more

That's cool!
Commuters in Glasgow’s Central Station were treated to a chilly reception as an artist turned a 2200kg block of ice into the perfect traveller’s snack.
To celebrate National Apple Day, ice sculptor Asanga Amerasinghe took just three hours to create a 6ft high and 3.3ft wide ice apple - using only a set of chisels.
The mouth-watering piece was started at 8am and remained on display yesterday until just a puddle of water remained. The stunt was sponsored by Magners Irish Cider, who gave out real apples to the public. www.eveningtimes.co.uk
