Commuters in Glasgow's Central Station were treated to a chilly reception as an artist turned a 2200kg block of ice into the perfect traveller's snack.
To celebrate National Apple Day, ice sculptor Asanga Amerasinghe took just three hours to create a 6ft high and 3.3ft wide ice apple - using only a set of chisels.
The mouth-watering piece was started at 8am and remained on display yesterday until just a puddle of water remained. The stunt was sponsored by Magners Irish Cider, who gave out real apples to the public. www.eveningtimes.co.uk
