Title: Photo Shoot – Advertising Campaign
Client: Volkswagen / DDB London
Location: Outside Saatchi Gallery, County Hall - London
Description:

The Creative Brief: To replicate in detail, a full size VW Polo car, to be shot ‘parked’ in a street, developing the Creative Directors concept to show –‘Air conditioning as standard’ which became the ad campaign strapline.
Innovative Solution: With a 10 day turnaround from the DDB Creative team and Art Buyer’s detailed briefing, to the creation of the sculpture and the organization of logistics and installation, it was always going to be an exciting challenge. Working with original design plans and drawings, couriered from VW Germany and one of the cars parked outside our studio, our team were able to make the sculpture in incredible detail.
Dynamic Result: The installation exceeded all of our client’s expectations, not only in satisfying the creative team and the photographer’s requirements, but also in attracting massive global press interest. The power of ice, delivered exceptionally by the Icebox again.

he installation exceeded all of our client’s expectations, not only in satisfying the creative team and the photographer’s requirements, but also in attracting massive global press interest. The power of ice, delivered exceptionally by the Icebox again.

The Coverage saved the client close to £300,000 in equivalent advertising spend.

Before the print advertising campaign had broken, well over 11 million people had seen the car, and knew about the air conditioning on the VW – this was generated by The Icebox’s PR alone. Pleased with the final result, the client used the print advertising in car magazines & billboards across the country and extended the campaign.

We have worked on hundreds of projects for major brands throughout the UK and Europe, mainly for live communications and events. However, the Polo Twist is the largest project for a specific shoot and single piece of advertising.
